This Privacy Policy applies to your use of our websites (the “Sites”) and our web and mobile applications (together with the Sites, the “Services”) operated by Homeasy LLC. It also applies to personal information you provide through other interactions with us—for example, when you engage with customer support, participate in our marketing programs, communicate via email or chat, or connect your accounts (e.g., Pinterest, Google Drive/Photos, Instagram) to import images or pins.
Personal Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account & contact details (e.g., name, email, password, mailing address, phone).
- Profile preferences (e.g., style, budget, room dimensions, location, preferred language).
- Content you upload or create (e.g., moodboards, imported pins/photos, notes, comments; project/client names if you use Pro/Trade features).
- Payment information for subscriptions or add-ons. We use third-party processors (e.g., Stripe) that collect data needed to complete your transaction (card number, CVV, expiration). Homeasy does not have access to your full payment details; processors handle them under their own privacy policies.
- Tax/verification data (if applicable to Pro/Trade or payout programs), such as business identifiers or VAT registration numbers for verification and compliant documentation.
- Communications (e.g., emails, support chats, service call recordings, SMS where permitted).
- User-generated content (e.g., reviews, forum posts, survey responses, promotion entries, images you upload).
Information collected automatically
- Usage, log, and device data (IP address, timestamps, pages viewed, clickstream, device identifiers, crash logs).
- Cookie/SDK data for session management, preferences, analytics, personalization, fraud prevention, and (where permitted) advertising measurement.
- Approximate location (e.g., IP-based geolocation) and, if you allow it, mobile device location.
- Design telemetry (e.g., prompts/settings you select, component swaps, AR/room-planner measurements you enter) to operate and improve the Services.
Information from third parties
- Connected services you authorize (e.g., Pinterest, Google Drive/Photos, Instagram) provide account handles/IDs and the content you choose to import.
- Partners & merchants may provide product data (pricing, availability, images, specs) and order or referral information tied to shoppable links and affiliate programs.
- Marketing/advertising partners may provide campaign performance metrics; social platforms may share audience or engagement data consistent with your settings.
- Contacts who invite you to collaborate may share your email or display name to enable invitations and shared projects.
How We Use Personal Information
- Provide and support the Services: operate accounts; create moodboards; import/clip content; generate AI room designs; run component-matching; manage subscriptions; enable Pro/Trade tools and client portals; provide support; process payments; and deliver collaboration features.
- Communicate with you: respond to requests; send service and security alerts; administer surveys, contests, and promotions.
- Improve, personalize, and protect: understand preferences; test features; enhance design quality and component matching; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Research & development: analyze usage to improve accuracy, speed, and usability; create aggregated/de-identified data for lawful business purposes.
- Marketing & advertising (where permitted): send direct marketing; measure and personalize ads with our providers and social platforms (see Cookies & Interest-Based Advertising). You can opt out of marketing as described below.
- Compliance & protection: enforce terms; comply with laws and lawful requests; maintain records; protect our rights, users, and partners.
Automated decision-making: We do not engage in profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you (as defined by certain privacy laws). Our AI design features are non-deterministic creative tools that you control.
Cookies & Interest-Based Advertising
Cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, local storage, SDKs, and device identifiers) help us run and improve the Services. They allow core functionality (e.g., sign-in, security), remember your preferences, measure performance, personalize content, and—where permitted—support advertising and affiliate attribution.
Types of cookies/technologies we use
- Strictly necessary: essential to sign in, secure the site, prevent fraud, and provide requested features.
- Functional: remember preferences (e.g., language, region, styles, layout options).
- Analytics & performance: measure traffic and feature usage; diagnose and improve the Services.
- Advertising & attribution: measure campaigns, prevent ad fraud, attribute affiliate/referral links, and personalize ads where permitted.
Interest-based advertising
We engage our advertising partners, including third-party advertising companies (such as Google) and social media companies, to display ads around the web. These companies may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your interactions over time across our Services, our communications, and other online services, and use that information to serve online ads that they think will interest you. This is called interest-based advertising.
Your choices for cookies and ads
- Browser controls: Most browsers let you block/delete cookies. Doing so may affect site functionality. See your browser’s help section.
- Device settings: Mobile operating systems may let you reset or limit ad IDs.
- Ad industry tools: Visit the NAI opt-out and the DAA opt-out pages. For the EU/UK, see YourOnlineChoices.
- Email pixels: You can disable images in your email client to limit pixel tracking.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor browser-level GPC signals as a request to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” (for that browser/device) where required by law. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.
- Do Not Sell or Share: California residents can submit an opt-out at /legal/do-not-sell-or-share. Some advertising/analytics uses of personal information may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under California law.
Note: Even if you opt out, you may still see ads—they may just be less relevant. Opt-outs are typically browser-/device-specific and may reset if you clear cookies.
How We Disclose Personal Information
- Within Homeasy (affiliates and subsidiaries) for the purposes described in this Policy.
- Service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processing, security, customer support, email/SMS delivery).
- Merchants, brands, and marketplace partners to enable product data, referral tracking, affiliate attribution, and purchase support when you click through to buy from third parties.
- Professional advisors (e.g., auditors, lawyers) and advertising partners (for permitted measurement/personalization as described above).
- Financing or payout providers (if you apply or enroll), at your direction and subject to their privacy policies.
- Government/law enforcement or other parties as required or appropriate to comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights and safety.
- Corporate transactions (e.g., merger, acquisition, financing, sale, bankruptcy) where your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
We may create and disclose aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you, for lawful business purposes.
Blogs, Reviews, and Forums
Our Services may offer publicly accessible blogs, reviews, or forums. Information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others. To request removal of information from these areas, see Your Privacy Rights & Choices. We may not be able to remove content in all cases (e.g., public reposts or legal requirements).
Social Media Plugins
The Sites and Apps may use social plugins (e.g., Pinterest, Instagram). When you load a page with a plugin, your browser connects directly to that platform, which may receive information about your visit (including if you are not logged in). Your interactions with the plugin are governed by the platform’s privacy policy and settings.
Job Applicants
When you visit our careers page or apply for a role, our Candidate Privacy Notice applies in addition to this Policy.
Investors
If you provide information via our investor page (name, contact, firm), we use it to respond to inquiries and improve site administration, and we may disclose it as necessary to comply with law, protect rights, or investigate potential violations.
Suppliers & Brand/Marketplace Partners
We collect and process limited personal information from suppliers and brand/marketplace partners (points of contact, business identifiers, bank details for payouts, and compliance information) to manage relationships, verify identities, meet legal obligations, and operate partner portals or feeds.
Our Security Measures
We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information (including encryption in transit for sensitive areas, access controls, and security practices). Payments are handled by PCI-compliant processors. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use strong passwords, enable available protections, and sign out on shared devices.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud/abuse, and enforce agreements. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify information in accordance with our retention policies and applicable law.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected information about a child, please contact us (see Contact Us) so we can delete it.
California Minors
California residents under 18 may request removal of content they posted on the Services by contacting us at [privacy@homeasy.com] and requesting deletion of the specific content. Note that removal may not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content (e.g., if reposted by others).
Your Privacy Rights & Choices
Manage your account
You can review and update certain account information by logging into your account. You may also request deletion of your account; if we delete your account, you may lose access to saved projects and content.
Marketing communications
You can opt out of direct marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or updating your preferences in your account. We may still send transactional or service messages (e.g., project updates, security alerts).
Text messages
To stop receiving SMS, reply STOP. For help, reply HELP. Message and data rates may apply.
Online tracking & targeted advertising choices
- Use the cookie/ad controls listed in Cookies & Interest-Based Advertising above.
- California residents: submit a “Do Not Sell or Share” request at /legal/do-not-sell-or-share. We process GPC signals as an opt-out for that browser/device where required.
Privacy rights (depending on your location)
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request: (a) access, (b) correction, (c) deletion, (d) portability, (e) restriction/objection (including to targeted advertising or “selling/sharing” under U.S. state laws), (f) withdrawal of consent where applicable, and (g) to appeal our decision.
To exercise rights, you may:
- Submit our Privacy Rights Request Form;
- Email us at [privacy@homeasy.com].
Before responding, we may verify your identity by matching information you provide with account or transactional data we maintain. Where permitted, you may authorize an agent to submit a request with written permission. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, though certain features may not function without the relevant data.
Visitors Outside of the United States
Homeasy is headquartered in the United States. We may transfer personal information to our affiliates and service providers in the U.S. and other jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those in your country. When we engage in cross-border transfers, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms) as required by applicable law. For more information, contact us as set out below.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, technical, or operational reasons. When we post changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where required, provide additional notice. Changes are effective upon posting unless otherwise stated. Your continued use of the Services means you accept the updated Policy.
